The games in this handout are separated into the categories of introductory games, name games, dynamicas (energisers) and fun ways to get people into groups. If someone is keen to lead a game this can be a good opportunity for the facilitator to take a backseat and let other people be ‘up front’ for a little while. For example a name game can fulfil the purpose of introducing people but, depending on the choice of the game, it may also energise people and support the group’s container.Ī great way to share facilitation and the power of the facilitator with the group can be to ask if anyone would like to lead a game. They have so many potential purposes and of course can also be used for a number of purposes at the same time. They may be scheduled into the workshop at various times or you may just toss one in when you feel that the group could benefit from playing a game. Games are great to use during a workshop.
